Love yourself but don't be afraid to self-upgrade!

It's that time of year, January again. Did you make New Years Resolutions this year? I personally don't believe in New Year's Resolutions as I think they are a recipe for disappointment, and you end up beating yourself up for not sticking to them, etc. and this leads to nothing but de-motivation. Having said that however, there is nothing wrong with a little self-upgrade should you see areas that need improving!

I'm a firm believer in loving yourself, they way you are, and I practice what I preach, I really splash around in who I am. You know the old saying, if you don't love yourself, how can anyone else? Well ladies, it's too true, so love yourself, for your lumps and bumps, for your droopy boobs, for your laugh lines, for all those things we look in the mirror and cringe a little about. Just give yourself permission to really love you!

Should there be something you really are unhappy about, and should there be something you can do about it, for your own peace of mind, do it! I cannot say enough good things about the confidence derived from admitting you need improving, then doing something about it, then reaping the rewards and seeing the results. Godmother and I decided in late October last year that we had had enough of our lumps and bumps and carrying around those few extra kilos we had gained over the last 2 years since starting our business, so we got off our bums, walked into the gym, and asked the nearest Personal Trainer to help us, due to scheduling, etc. we have both taken different routes on this journey, but we are still on the journey. We have lost centimeters, weight, body fat, and we have gained confidence, pride and persistence. Let me tell you ladies, if I can do it, you can, as I have a real aversion to exercise normally, but just call me gym bunny now.

I am so proud of Godmother and I for taking this journey, it has inspired my to self-improve other areas of my life as well. I would encourage you to self examine yourself this January and if there's anything you want to improve, do it. But never forget to LOVE yourself through it all.

This post was inspired by a beautifully worded Facebook status update of on of our fabulous suppliers to The Bedroom. Thank you Genna-Wae!
